Are you satisfied with the outcome of the transaction? What are RLB STM’s goals in the benchmark segment?

Walter Mayer

Walter Mayer

Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark

Yes, we are very satisfied with the result. The transaction was the first Austrian benchmark issue following the summer break and was extremely successful. Particularly encouraging was the exceptionally strong investor interest, which was reflected in Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark’s largest order book to date. This enabled us to place the issue with the narrowest spread by an Austrian issuer in several years.

The result also underscores investors’ high level of confidence in Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark and confirms our position as an established covered bond issuer in the international capital market. Our goal is to consistently expand this position in the benchmark segment and to sustainably strengthen our presence among international investors.

This success is based, on the one hand, on the high quality of our mortgage cover pool and, on the other hand, on our long-standing and ongoing investor relations efforts. The outstanding outcome of this issuance is therefore a clear endorsement of our consistent capital market strategy and the strong relationship that we have built with our investors over the years.

What sets RLB STM’s cover pool apart?

Walter Mayer

Walter Mayer

Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark

The high quality of our mortgage cover pool is impressively confirmed by Moody’s Aaa rating and forms a central foundation for the strong level of trust our investors place in us. In addition to mortgage assets from Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, the cover pool also includes those from the Styrian Raiffeisen banks. As a result, it is based predominantly on traditional, small-volume retail business and is thus broadly diversified. This structure reduces concentration risks and ensures a high degree of portfolio stability. Furthermore, our cover pool has a comfortable level of overcollateralization.

A key quality feature is our consistently conservative approach to cover pool management. Each cover loan undergoes its own assessment, and we voluntarily limit the loan-to-value ratio to a maximum of 60 percent. This is complemented by ongoing monitoring of customer creditworthiness and a structured early-warning process.

The combination of a conservative risk policy, high transparency, and first-class cover quality makes our Pfandbriefe a reliable and attractive investment for domestic and international investors.
