Markus Schmidt

Markus Schmidt has held various positions in the securities and capital markets business of Sparkasse Hannover since 1996.

After several years as a securities specialist, in asset management and in balance sheet structure management, he took over the management of the trading department in 2011 and the treasury department in 2017. In addition to proprietary investments (Depot A), his responsibilities also include asset/liability management, money market and foreign exchange trading, and institutional refinancing.

Markus Schmidt played a key role at Sparkasse Hannover in the introduction of public and mortgage Pfandbriefe in accordance with the Pfandbrief Act in 2008 and in the introduction of "Green Pfandbriefe" in 2021.
