Florian Hillenbrand

Florian Hillenbrand is a covered bond strategist at Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) in Frankfurt. In this role, he is responsible for assessing all regulatory, legal and market-related aspects of covered bonds and evaluating the associated sustainable, green and social activities of covered bond issuers.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial market. Before joining Helaba in 2025, he held various positions at UniCredit in Munich, including covered bond and securitisation research, strategic portfolio management, primary market trading and asset liability management with a focus on structured financial transactions.
Florian Hillenbrand is a regular speaker at specialist conferences and is a member of the Round Table Covered Bond Legislation. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a degree in economics from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
